Carlisle West Sure Start Children's Centre offers access to a range of support for families with children age 8 & under. Offering accessible services for all parents, with more support targeted at those who need it. Services include, Play & Early Support, Childcare, Parenting Support, Individual Home Based Family Support, Health Services, Volunteering Opportunities and help for parents to find work or training.
The Centre covers Morton, Denton Holme, Belle Vue, Yewdale, Castle, Dalston and Burgh. We help parents, carers and families to promote healthy choices and lifestyles, provide safe homes and stability ,support learning, enjoyment and achievement, promote positive behaviour and participate in making their community a better place to live. We value and respect all children and their families and will work together to provide equality of opportunity in order to enable families to make their own choices.
Carlisle West Newtown used to share it's base with Carlisle West - Morton, on Wigton Road, behind Morton Community Centre. It has now opened new premises on Shady Grove Road ans is open 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. The majority of Children's Centre services and activities happen in local Community Centres and halls. We work closely with First Steps Nursery, Newtown, an OFSTED registered nursery offering early education, full day care, wraparound childcare and holiday care for under 5's. There is a Children's Centre sensory room in Newtown School providing one to one sensory stimulation for children & their parents. Outreach home visits are available to share further information about Children's Centre services or please contact 01228 223417 or call in at the Centre.
